Proposals are being drawn up for a new zero-carbon biomethane plant near Bethersden, which will provide sustainable energy and support the local rural economy.
Little Oak Biogas Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of Future Biogas Limited, who are a leading UK producer of biomethane, owning and operating facilities across the country.
Biomethane is a clean alternative to North Sea and imported fossil fuel gas. It is generated using bioenergy crops from local farmers, which are grown sustainably as part of crop rotations that also produce food. Unlike some other operators, we do not process food or animal waste.
We offer local growers a guaranteed regular income, helping them to maintain sustainable businesses and supporting the area’s vital rural economy at a time of great financial uncertainly in the agricultural sector.
The proposed site for Little Oak Biogas facility is off the A28 Ashford Road, approximately one and a half miles east of the centre of Bethersden at Little Oak Farm. It has been identified as a suitable location as it benefits from a gas network connection, local growing opportunities for bioenergy crops, and a variety of other factors.
We will be holding a drop-in exhibition for the community on Tuesday, 28th January at Bethersden Village Hall (TN26 3AF), from 1pm to 7pm.
The consultation material will also be available to view here from 28th January.
